Re: My 68 C-10 Build in Pearland, TX
Also notice that I have no grille, I am victim of a 68 truck with a 69-70 core support, so I gave my 68 grille away and decide to go custom. I will do my best for it not to look really bad but I am really thinking about doing a square, hideaway headlight setup on the truck. Most of these ideas can turn into crud real fast, but mine will be cool or else I will keep re-doing it until I get it right!

Good looking truck. Looks like you have a nice start. Good luck with the build.

This truck is in Friendswood. It is 1972. He is installing a 350 trans. with a floor shifter. Do you need this 3 on tree column? He will trade for a manual column.
PS. Note the color of the truck! Tim

Re: My 68 C-10 Build in Pearland, TX
I'd love to have his 3-spd column, but I can't trade, I still need to hang onto mine for now. But I would like to see about buying it if he finds a replacement. That is a truly yellow truck!

jwgeorge, Right now I am getting my house ready to sell, but it is almost ready for the market. Once it's on the market things will slow down for me and I will be able to swing by. Where are you at in Pearland?

Cameo, I am on Westminister St. which runs next to Kelley's restaurant, almost at the North end of the street. Good Luck with the house selling!

Thanks! You are not going to believe it but when my wife and I were out looking at houses this morning we actually drove by your house. I saw the truck out front. I wanted to stop but it was still fairly early in the morning.

Ha ha! Can't miss that truck in my neighborhood, kinda sticks out! There are a few houses for sale in my 'hood, but we do have an HOA, it's only $60/year, but you have to keep your parts hidden. Next time stop by and I'll show you all the parts I have!

Re: My 68 C-10 Build in Pearland, TX
Sounds good. I noticed that the HOA fees were cheap when we were looking up listings. HOA's are my only concern; how restricted will I be on my trucks?

Re: My 68 C-10 Build in Pearland, TX
OK, So it seems that I have been given the opportunity to jump head first into the dark abyss of truck restoring. I have just inked a deal to buy a 69-70 frame, long stepside bed and steering column. I will restore the frame properly, with new brake lines, swingarm bushings, etc. This will make it easier for me to add the underbed gas tank. Basically all that will be left of my original truck will be the front fenders, front suspension, rear springs and drive shaft. I guess if you're going to do it right, do it all the way. I must have totally lost my mind.
