Heater/Ac Reinstall

I am in the process of finding a weekend toy, and I have recently found a 1985 Chevy, and the previous owner took out the AC and Heater Components. And I was wondering if you guys could give me a rough estimate of how costly and involved getting a heater and ac going again (it still has factory controls but I believe that is it)

Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Heater/Ac Reinstall

If you can afford it, vintage air($1335 kit) would be 10x better than the factory set up could ever be.

Re: Heater/Ac Reinstall

Yeah, I second the vintage air kit. I personally don't own one cuz I currently don't have the cash, but I've heard very good things about it. It also seems a lot easier to install than the original equipment. I gutted my whole a/c and heater system because it didn't work and it was a PITA for me.

Re: Heater/Ac Reinstall

If you have a junk yard near you or an LKQ yard you can pull all of the parts that you need for under a few hundred dollars. I just pulled a complete heater box with the vac control units for $18...
