Looks like something you can make into a nice truck .as you always do. Hey ,,does it have the tail gate to go with it?
I know the first year for the 402 was in 1970 but could some been put in the 69's ?? you probably already looked at the numbers and know..just curious ..

can we guess the price Leon? LOL $2000

Good question ... I have never heard of a 69 with a factory 402 BB ...but who knows

I thought all the 396's were actually 402's? Is this info not correct? My understanding was that all were listed as 396, but were in fact 402 ci engines from 69 to 72, then they went to listing them as 402's.

Either way, its a cool survivor, you could do worse than that. Buy it!

A 69 should have a true 396 in it. The 402 did not even exist til 1970. Even CARS that were 1970 and later had 402's even thought they called them 396's.

That's not right. I had a 1971 Camaro SS396 6 years ago. I removed the ORIGINAL Numbers Matching engine, measured it, rebuilt it, and sold the car. It was a 396, not a 402. Ask me how it was a 396 still and I couldn't tell you other than it wasn't bored .030 farther.

Could be. This is the first time I have every seen or heard of one though. Every car I have every seen or every piece of literature I have ever read states that in 1970 every chevy vehicle (chevelle impala camaro TRUCK...)have 402's and not 396"s. I know a 1970 Chevelle is badged 396, but if you ask any enthusiast he will tell you it is actually a 402. From the info I have read on the camaro's it seem the same, but maybe not.

Yeah, I should have kept the car. I purchased it for $600. Rebuilt the engine, installed rockers, quarters and floors. Sold it for $4k. Now I can't find a 70-73 for under $4k that isn't junk. I want to kick my self in the nads.
