question about factory air

i want to replace the blower motor in a 66 factory air truck. the folks at 'old air products' in texas say that they don't show a listing on the blower motor for factory air but that they are different from the non-air heater motor. something about a bigger mounting flange.

does anybody out there know if later model blower motors will work, if the mounting flange is different? like say 73-82 model trucks.

thanks, clem

Re: question about factory air

Just about any GM heater motor will fit. The fact A/C did use a different one with larger windings, but it's almost impossible to find one. They all bolt up the same, & should be still available from your FLAPS--Four Seasons/Factory Air part # is 35587

Re: question about factory air

just wanted to put this thread to sleep with a happy ending before it slides off into the abyss.

heres the pics for the challenged, just a joke clyde my man. 66 air motor on the right, note cooling hole which has a rubber elbow that also is attached to the firewall box and rotates air around the windings.

and you're right 64 fleetside... the air motor is the same as later suburban motors and is interchangeable.

thanks guys
