4l60 Rebuilds

What should I expect for a fair price on a 4l60 rebuild ? Should the torque converter be swapped out too ? Are rebuilt converters ok or stick with new . thanks .

Re: 4l60 Rebuilds

Sorry no one got to you. The mods in this area are suppose to help out on "0" replies (myself included) so i apologize.

Around this area they go for around &00-1500 depending on if you pull or they pull and if its a 4x4 or not. Yes the torque converter should be replaced and i have used the rebuilt ones and they are fine too. Hope this helps out.

Re: 4l60 Rebuilds

i have a friend who owns a trans shop... so my price on a rebuild with a new converter was $650... i believe $300 was labor, and the rest parts... that was with me R&R the trans and for them to do a bench job... he said they normally charge around $1600-1800 for someone who drives in, for a turn key job...
