A little bit of info I wish I would have known. :(
This past weekend I lowered my 94 by using spindles and 2" springs. I took it in for an alignment but found that I was suppose to punch out the tabs on the UCA for the alignment. Once I remove the tabs do I have to buy some special bolt for the cam kit or what do I need in order for the shop to do the alignment. If you have link to the kit assuming I need one please include the link with your reply. Oh well I guess its another small bump in the road.

DJM spindles didn't result in us having to do that, either.

I may take it to someone else and see if they would put in on and check the alignment before taking the tabs out. Maybe it would be fine. I got new tires on the front today and that made a world of difference in the way it handles.

You remove the upper control arms bolts and slide the arm away from the frame and you'll see the tabs where the bolts go. I usually hook a little prybar in there and twist and they pop out. Now reinstall and hit the alignment shop.

I can't believe they are still there after 17 years. Did my first alignment 2 years after I bought it and my alignment guy told me either I do it or I pay him to get rid of them.

I have never had to do an alignment on the truck. It has been a great truck with 194,000 miles. |

The first alignment on these trucks requires this. I paid to have it done on my '91 when I first had it aligned, but my subsequent 3 '88-'98 trucks had already had them removed before I got my hands on them.

This is a well known thing and requires no new parts. I did it with an old flat headed screwdriver and hammer.

Re: A little bit of info I wish I would have known. :(
Well I took the truck into another place and explained to them that I had not removed these knockouts but if they could check to see how far out the alignment is and to set the to in/ to out. They set it on the lift and checked everything and the values were all with in spec. I was pretty happy about that. I was going to pop out the knockouts but figured it was worth a shot since it was ok for you.
