Carb to TBI conversion options....

I searched a little through the website with no luck so here goes. I am looking into converting my '85 burb from the factory carb to TBI fuel injection from an '89 C1500 I have. Question I have is, does anyone make an intake to adapt the throttle body to the older heads? Can I have a stock 87-95 intake machined to fit the older heads? I know the center intake bolts are at different angle. Or, can I just use a adapter plate like this....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TBI-C...Q5fAccessories What about the other sensors that are on the factory TBI intake? What ones do I need to keep?

The engine I have on my burb is almost new and I do want to swap heads to make it work and I don't think I need to but just need some options.

Re: Carb to TBI conversion options....

Adam, You can use this adapter and any carbed intake you would like to run the throttle body on your current engine :http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-17-45/

I used an aftermarket harness from www.fuelinjectionconnection.com for my truck. Robert was a good source for help, too. The harness is $245 shipped, and was a pretty easy install. There was enough length to it to install the ECM under the driver's seat, too. (after drilling a pass through hole in the firewall, behind the distributor). The FIC harness also deletes the smog equipment for a cleaner look (and less complexities as well). The main reason I went that was is the TBI harness I had looked like it had been in a catfight, and I didn't trust it at all. I will send ou a PM with my number if you have any questions.
