Factory fan shroud
I'm having zero luck, figured i'd ask you guys!
I need a fan shroud for my 62' & am running a small block. Are passenger car(60-64?) fan shrouds compatable? I'm assuming(here's where I get in trouble!) they came w/ a fan shroud, right? I'm definitely not going to run a fiberglass job, & although I own an electric fan that will work, I just prefer a good old fashioned metal shroud. Thanks. I've got one from a 66 with an inline 6. Anyone know if it's the same?

Re: Factory fan shroud
The '60-'62 fan shrouds are metal and sort of resemble a short piece of culvert.
The '60-'64 passenger car shrouds may be close enough that you could modify one to fit. I know the radiators are very close in size.

Re: Factory fan shroud
I was thinking that,I owned a 64' belair & had to buy a shroud for it,& it dawned on me that that might work, they even had 3 sets of holes on each side..

Re: Factory fan shroud
I know the frames differ after 62' ,but maybe all the radiator core supp./sheetmetal up front is the same? (could I be that lucky?) The ID on the fan i'd assume is the same as a 8cyl setup, that wouldn't be an issue for me if not though, i'd just run a different size fan if need be.

Re: Factory fan shroud
I have a 66, it is some sort of fiberglass composite plastic.

Re: Factory fan shroud
Jon is correct. I don't know exactly what they are made out of, but the original ones can be repaired with fiberglass. The '63-'66 V8, and HD I6 fan shrouds are the only ones that are reproduced.

Re: Factory fan shroud
The V8 ones are similiar to a Bakelight material. Original ones are kinda tough to find.
