Problem with headers and shift linkage - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Well after a super duper time installing a set of headmen headers(5 hours)..
I cannot shift into drive.. The linkage hits.. I can get reverse and neutral, but no farther..
These are the large tube headers with a 4in collector.

Has anybody run across this problem??
what did you do to fix it?

Oh yeah I have a 700r4 with stock linkage..

I did a better measure on the collector. They are 3 1/2in.

Does anyone use a different linkage than stock??
