Can anyone tell me how to tell what my axle ratio is on my 91 gmc sonoma?

Easiest way is to lift the rear wheels off the ground. Rotate the driveshaft by hand. Count the number of times the number of times the driveshaft rotates for one revolution of the tires. If it's just over three, then you have 3.08, three and a half is 3.43, three and three quarters is 3.73 and just over four is 4.10

If you turn the wheels turn both at the same time or you'll never get the ratio close.

Hey Brent, look for a label called Service Parts Identification Label, usually in the glovebox. Look for any of these 3 letter, number combinations; GT4: 3.73 Ratio, GU2: 2.73 Ratio, GU4: 3.08 Ratio, GU6: 3.42 Ratio, G80: Rear Axle: Positraction, and H04: 4.11 Ratio
