Online source for rebuilt trans?
I am needing a rebuilt trans for my 71 K10, th350, and here local trans shops are telling me it will be in the $800 and up neighborhood to rebuild mine. The last time I got a th350 done was about 8-10 years ago, and if I remember correctly it was about $300. I have rebuilt th350's before, but don't really want to tackle this one... meaning I only want to pull it once!
I wanted to see if there was anywhere online that can beat out those prices! Thanks in advance!!! |

Re: Online source for rebuilt trans?
I was shopping for one a couple years ago, and that's inline with what I found. Even the local shops wanted that much.
I ended up here http://jakesperformance.com/ Trans has been running strong. E-mails and phone calls were swapped so I could get the correct output shaft as it was in my K-20. (and to verify exactly what I was looking for.) edit- Looks like prices have changed. I was going to tackle the tranny myself, but with winter approaching, I needed the truck.

I looked on Summit's website, and didn't see any 4x4 stuff. Do they have more stuff that's not on the web?
I guess the days of cheap rebuilds are gone. I'll probably yank it out this weekend and take it down to a local shop I guess. |

Re: Online source for rebuilt trans?
your best bet is prob. going to be your local shop, most online are higher priced and then there is the shipping of the new one and returning your core and if your core does not meet there return requirements then there is the core charge, besides your local shop can build it to your NEEDS, Ie shift kit or whatever you want or need. then you have someone local if there is a problem, thats my 2 cents COOP
