Tricks to getting door aligned

Got the door hung and I'm trying to get them set right. This is what I came up with. I mounted the dovetail and I have the door closed, with the help of a friend or two. holding the door closed, I'll lossen the bolts a little and slide/wiggle/shove/cuss and tap the door in place (I hope) .

How did you guys get it done?

Jake

I use paint sticks tapped to the edges of the door jam to get it mounted at first. Then do final tweaks to align it perfect.

Re: Tricks to getting door aligned

I like to put a hydraulic floor jack with a 2x4 on it under the back/bottom end of the door (door slightly open/balanced on the jack) with the door hinges bolted mostly snug, then fine-tune adjust using the jack - saves some grunting and cussing. The paint stick trick is great for checking consistent gaps all around.

I'll try the paint sticks as I'd not like to smash the fingers. Thanks
