Re: Abandoned truck.....help me identify!

I don't feel like you wasted my time. I just wanted you (or someone else here on the site) to buy it. The thread carried on so long that we all got attached to it. Don't take offense to my tone in the last post. I just hate to see these old trucks go to people who might not appreciate them. I'd save them all if I had the money and the room to keep them. Kinda like the old Crazy Cat Lady, but I would be Crazy Truck Guy.

Re: Abandoned truck.....help me identify!

Funny thing about this whole thing, don't know if anyone else noticed, mwmeador38 who dug this thread up after more than a year of inactivity has only one post.
And this is the thread he chose to make his first post in.

i did notice that was the case, it seems to me that in most cases like this, the poster has found the thread through a link from a search engine like i.e. google and post on it and do not realize it is a old post....i see it on the HAMB and other truck/car forums all the time.

and i do think the o/p of the thread should have relayed that they were passing on the truck for interested fourm members like vernski ,i would have and think thats kinda the code of conduct of the brotherhood of a fourm for cars/truck members that have a passion for the vehicles of that forum!

Re: Abandoned truck.....help me identify!

I don't hang out in this part of the forum but this post caught my eye. It had so much potential but ended up dissapointing for sure. I do think the OP dropped the ball by getting a lot of good advice and then not even giving someone else a shot. Was kind of an all take and no give type of situation. On the other hand, if the other guys in this thread were really interested in the truck, wouldn't they have sent PM's or at least bumped this thread? I do believe that if someone is really interested in something another guy has or knows about, they will inquire.

Not cool at all, nicke. You said you'd let vernski know if you were gonna pass.
It took over a year, but ya got caught

Re: Abandoned truck.....help me identify!

Wow, again sorry guys for everyone I offended by not being more proactive in the marketing of this truck to someone else. I agree that I should have posted that I was going to pass on it, but sometimes, life just catches up. To my regret, I didn't indicate that I wasn't interested to Vern, or anyone else.
To make amends, I would be happy to post all of the 60-66 trucks currently on craigslist for sale... many are in nice condition, and many under $1k. There are quite a few candidates.
For those of you who felt obligated to rescue this one, I would be happy to direct you to another.
Again, sorry.

Re: Abandoned truck.....help me identify!

I would have to agree, make a move on the truck or pass it onto
someone else.you definatly have to consider space, see if he will take 500.00 for it and pass it onto to vern if he still wants it for 700.00.Have to make a fee for your time.blackdawg

nicke post those craigslisters up man

j/k

On a more serious note I'd like to give the guy who dug this thread up and posted on it a quick smack. I was reading the thread thinking "Hail yeah this guy found a gem and is gonna snatch it up!" I figured by the age of the thread he'd bought it and was posting his progress... jokes on us guys!
