The mods mentioned above are a good start, have you changed the gear ratio? Ideally you'll want 4.56s. This could as big if not bigger difference on how it runs, you may even be able to pull overdrive up a hill. If engine mods are where you want to stay than try a compucam from Crane. The compucams are compatible with the computer and don't affect fuel mileage. As far as the chip they just don't seem to do much for stock throttle body 350s, I've modified many of these trucks and the best bang for the buck without killing milage and engine life is definitely the cam swap it just makes all the other mods work much better. You may wnat to consider a vortec head swap (contact jimpace.com they sell a complete kit) if you have the money. With the head and cam swap you'll be pushing 250 rear wheel horsepower assuming everything else is up to snuff.
