"license lamp" is clear or yellow tint correct

I have seen some nos license lamp lenses clear and with a yellow tint. both part # 5958467. the yellow looking one came in a older gm box and the clear must have been a newer mold cause it came in a unopened plastic wrapper. which is correct or has the yellow one just discolored?

The yellow tint is correct for the original stuff. The clear is newer.

I used metal polish on mine. Turned out great. Stuff you can buy that comes as a wadding. Works the same as that stuff they sell to restore yellow headlights on newer cars.

I went to OReilly's and bought 2 new ones for about 8 bucks each. Now I'm legal to drive at night!
