another new guy checking in on forum
good morning every one!
would like to take the time to introduce my self, my name is sam and im from the bay area, ca. currently working on a 1964 fleetside i bought as a gift to myself for my 22nd birthday. to date ive currently replaced cab floor and rockers swapped in a 350sb/350th tranny, installed new harnes and power discs up front. its not quite a looker as im learning about body work as i go (must say its looking pretty decent tho) currently sitting 4 inches lover in the rear and i beleive 3 up front. not getting much done recently as im a paramedic intern. first truck i had at 16 was a 78 cheyenne loved it and regretted selling it from the day it drove away. want to say thank you and thank you in advance as all the info i have read on this site has all been quality stuff. you guys are awesome. glad to be apart of such a great forum and i hope to be able to help a few guys out down the road as you all have been so helpfull already. |

Welcome to the forum, with or without pics. It’s always nice to see young talent having an interest in vintage trucks. Sounds like you’ve already gotten a lot done. Good luck on the project and your career path.

Re: another new guy checking in on forum
Yikes, I didn't mention that mines 4wd. I think the rear of the frames are different. It's not installed yet as I'm trying to work out all the bugs ahead of time, like the fuel sender, hard line fittings, new crossmembers (2) that need to be fabed up and the issue of the filler neck. I've got all the parts collected and sender figured out. Just need a free weekend to cut out the old x member, install the new ones and strap the tank in. At this point, the back of the tank will sit in from the ends of the frame by about a foot if the filler sits in between the bed sills the way that I want. I have the 30 gal. too which makes it hang down a little. Not a prob for the 4x4 but I think guys are using a smaller tank for the 2wd.
