Yes the shifter will clear the door I just have to figure out a way to make a shifter linkage. I am thinking a cable shift will have to be the wat to go.

The following might be of interest to you......
88 up power steering boxes bolt up with the use of an adaptor plate to the chassis and you need to lengthen the drag link by a couple of inches to suit. Its the most common power steering conversion here in Australia. That burnout by the way is Danny Smiths from here in Australia.

88 and up chevy truck steering box? this is the only thing holding me back i need a gear box can some one help with the gear box situation ive cleaned up my fire wall pulled heating off and am ready to pull steering column i want to use teh original one so what can u say about the gear box??

The one from the 88 up bolts to the inside of the frame. So when you use it, it will bolt to the outside of the frame on the passenger side alowing the steering column to be in line.
