Interior Help Please!!
Im looking for someone that can build a custom bench seat from my old one. I have an 86 chevy with a stock seat with the usual drivers sag. I have an idea for a bench seat but have no idea where to start looking. I live close to memphis, TN so the closer the better although i dont mind a road trip just not to far due to insane gas prices. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don's upholstery in memphis does excellent work and will build to your specs. They are located on union ave. down town.

Re: Interior Help Please!!
Just a tip, have the upholstery shop us denser than normal foam and add about 1" to the thickness to compensate for future sag in the seat. You will sit up a little higher but a firmer foam seat will be more comfortable in the long run. Better yet, replace your seat with a later model seat with integral seat belts, like early 2000 + Silverado/Sierra or late 90s - early 2000s Chrysler Sebring convertibles.

Re: Interior Help Please!!
I there such a thing as new foam designed for these trucks?
I've never really looked how these seat frames are designed. But if springs brake, your pretty much done. I've replaced the piano wire with canvas and those turned out great. So monte tell us what's on your mind for a seat fab. |

Re: Interior Help Please!!
They generally have zig zag springs with about 4-6" of foam or maybe just foam. Check with an upholstery shop they can repair it cheaper than what the new bun would cost you. LMC price for bottom foam $280

Re: Interior Help Please!!
Basically like this but solid across the back and a deeper insert in the middle kinda like a ferarri bucket seat.
