What is this! 1962 1 ton 4X4 chassis?
A guy near me wants to sell this chassis and asked me to look it over and tell him what he has. I thought if it 4X4 and 1962 it would be a NAPCO set up but I can't see any markings on it to ID what it is any ideas?
here is a link to pictures. http://s979.photobucket.com/albums/a...y64/one%20ton/ It has dual rear wheels and was an ag spray truck at one time. |

Re: What is this! 1962 1 ton 4X4 chassis?
It is not a Napco setup. The front axle is clearly a closed knuckle Dana 44, rear axle an HO52. Standard fare for 1962. Looks to be a six with a 3 spd transmission and a Rockwell t-case. None of this stuff is worth much money to anyone but a restorer. Even then very few want a 3spd trans in a 4x4.
The only good thing about the whole chassis is that has 4.56 gears and it may have a no-spin in the rear axle. Other wise not worth much more than scrap to anyone but a restorer. |
