285/75/16's on K20?
I've been trying to find decent tires on c-list for a while now. There are lots of 285/75/16's, but they seem a bit wide. I have a couple mounted on factory steel rims, seems like they might rub up front. This is a 67 all factory 3/4 ton 4x4 with drum brakes. Any issues with this size tire? I've been searching, but get all kinds of stuff. Any help is appreciated. Will be mounted on steelies.
Thanks, trapperjack

Re: 285/75/16's on K20?
If the 67-72's have a little more clearnce then the 73-87's you will be good. I have 285/75/16's on both my 78 and 90. they never run unless im getting a little rough with them off road. And then they just kiss the fenders barely. On stock wheels they might not hit at all but mine are on 16x8 aluminum wheels.

I have 265/75's on our C20 and there's still a bit of room. If the 4x4 is taller it shouldn't be an issue. Only one way to know!

They'll fit just fine on the rims and on the truck. They could use a slightly wider rim,but I run them on stock wheels with no problems.

Re: 285/75/16's on K20?
Trapper, I put 265/75/16's on my K15 and I am running a little short on room in the back as far as the diameter went. It looks like the tire is getting a little close to the fender. I couldnt fit them nicely on the stock wheels (they were too narrow) and went to some alum mags that I had (came off a newer 90's GM). I ran into a problem with the offset and rubbing the tie rod.
Just some food for thought

Re: 285/75/16's on K20?
i have 7.50x16's on there now, the 265/75/16 is supposed to be the same height as the 7.50x16's. If i could find a good 7.50X16 I'd just get one, the other 3 are almost new, but dang, they are expensive. I can get a set of 4 used radials for the price of 1 off craigslist. Thanks for the replies.
