Ditched the beauty rings

and painted [just the back] rims with that Krylon Hammered black metallic paint. I only did the back because they're Rallys, and the fronts are wagon wheels. I have another pair of Rallys already painted up and ready for when I get my new tires.

I'm going to keep the rims black, but the truck EVENTUALLY will end up a slightly darkened silver.

Keep 'em or leave 'em?

Trim rings are played out. Leave them off.

Re: Ditched the beauty rings

Well the main reason of having them was to hide the two different types of rims... yeah I guess they;re not going back on.

Re: Ditched the beauty rings

The hammered paint is great... I think I've used it for everything that they claim it can be used on

I think I'm going to leave the centers and for sure ditch the trim rings though, at least on my pickup. I'll probably do the Blazer rims in silver and find the 4 best looking trim rings to slap on it [yeah, yeah thing with the orange hood in the background is that said Blazer]

My rims WERE flat black, and I'm with you on that... MISTAKE! But I needed to cover up BRIGHT GLOSS RED. UGH!

Re: Ditched the beauty rings

I personally don't care for black wheels unless they have a trim ring. I painted mine gloss black and left the ring on.

The paint and myself were both hammered lol

Don't do red rims, I beg you... here's what they looked like when my blazer was first bought... Granted I did transfer them onto my diesel pickup which is blue, but still... HATED the red rims. I douced them in flat black while they were on the Blazer.

My truck's got full wheel covers on stock steel wheels. It's cheap, different and I can change the look in 5 minutes!

Red rims only look right with wide whites and dome hubcaps.
