Re: Pics of Cold Air intake

ill take pics soon of what im doing. all that "crap" is at the shop, as I havent found the missing link yet.im using the top from a vortec v6 airbox as my "inlet bell". i have a 92 stepper with a v6, so the radiator isint as wide as the v8s. theres a plastic plate that covers the extra space that the v6 radiator is missing. im taking out the plastic plate and mounting the airbox lid here. it has a 3" port coming at just the right angle. using a tube from there to an 45 degree elbow and going straight into the stock air cleaner with a spacer under it so i can rotate it whereever it needs to be, and of course a REAL k&n replacement air filter in it. ive mocked it up, isnt that noticable. if the tube was already black plastic it looks pretty factory. ill post pics when i get to the shop tommorrow.

Was going to use the same airbox lid but instead of a tube, a newer ford truck airbox assembly, since i had it, its like a cone filter inside a can, pretty much inline. i grabbed the tb lid from fwd cadi, about a 90 model or so, with a 4.9 or somethin, kinda resembles what guys pay big money for to run a vortech blower on a carb, but way way cheaper. even has some ducting inside of that piece to help airflow i assume. looks like one of those tornado things for your air cleaner that they used to sell when you look inside of it.

Hope the info helps since i dont have any pics yet.

Re: Pics of Cold Air intake

Which would be the best route to go? Ram air or cold air intake? I had the airaid cold air on my 94 with a 5.7 and a throttle body spacer and noticed it quiet a bit.

Re: Pics of Cold Air intake

Yes Ram Air would be better. Thanks KnightOwl, I look forward to the Pics.
Question: As I am new to Fuel Injection (I have three 56 Chevy's) what does the Throttle body Spacer do??? I assume performance, but are there any Milage bonus' too??

Re: Pics of Cold Air intake

some mileage gains aswell, tb spacer basically gives air a chance to spin and break up into finer particles, giving more complete combustion/ better response/ better performance/better mileage.
