Adding power steering ?
I just bought a 69 3/4 4x4 that does not have ps. I want to add it and wanted to make sure this is a bolt up job. Do I just bolt on a power steering pump, change out the manual steering box for a power steering box and I am done? Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Especially where to pick up a good ps box and pump, can I use them out of the 73 and newer trucks?

yup, ......might wanna pick up the hoses though!!lol! pretty easy mod. just make sure you have the pulley to drive the pump...and they're in line correctly.

to add, May need to change out the pitman arm, the Hole diamention is smaller on a manual than on the PS one

You will need a gearbox, hoses, pump, pump brackets, pitman arm & a integral power steering coupler. Watch out using 78 and newer pumps they went to using metric fittings at the hoses so don't mix a early pump with later gearbox or visa-versa.

ps
That's the best mod you'll ever do to a 4x4. They drive like a tank without it, and like a truck after.
