ignition module
buddy brought me his truck 80 or so ton chevy 350 to work on that he just bought and the guy he bought it from just put a module in it and it had been cranked probly 20 times tops and the module has done went out. so i put a used one in it and cranked it less than 10 times and now it is bad. is there something causing this or just taiwain piece of crap modules you think?

I'm not an electronics whiz, but it sounds like the unit is getting too much voltage somehow. I would put a meter on the input and see what's going in. It's a place to start.

I agree with the meter check. See link in this post for a good way to test coil and pickup. There is no way to test module unless you have expensive tester.
Do you have engine to frame and cab to frame grounds?

Check grounds, check voltage and check ballast resistor if equipped. My best guess is the ballast resistor.

where would the ballast resistor be if it does have one i have never messed with one of them and how do you tell if its bad.

You've put the heat paste underneath the module(s) before installing them, right?
