Has anyone tried welding the bed to the cab? 1972.
I was thinking of turning 72 a long bed in to a short bed. Then I thought if I was cutting and welding, it might look cool to chop the front off of the bed and butt it up to the cab. Just smooth it out it all up and make it look like a blazer. If I get it, I'm going to bag it all around so I was thinking I may need to stiffin the frame some while I'm at it.
Any ideas???

I am working on doing that for my project. The first picture started out as a blazer and added a truck cab. The second is my plans. I just have pics of 68 but you get the idea. Good luck with your project. Post up pics if you go ahead with it.

Thanks for the help, that truck looks sweet with no gap behind the cab.
Very slick.

Last picture looks like a blazer with a 1/2 top but gives you a good idea what it would look like on a pickup

Re: Has anyone tried welding the bed to the cab? 1972.
i dont think it is a blazer with a 1/2 top because the top is metal and not removable. and it has a back window like our big windows. also the back of the cab looks like our cabs but attached similar to an el camino... another cool thing is the vin number starts with X instead of K, C, ect... i can have him get more pics if you like..

that's a blazer with a pickup cab welded on ... notice how "short" it looks between the rear wheel opening and the door ... that's way too short for a SWB truck

Very nice looking truck, the back of the cab looks cool too.
