brakes need help!
Does any one have a pic of the rear brake line setup on the axle. I need to make lines from scratch. I'm trying not to have to buy high dollar specialty pieces. Also will a disc brake proportion valve off a 73-87 work on a 71 setup those are some of the last pieces of the puzzle I'm trying to hunt down

Re: brakes need help!
Unless you're trying to be period correct, I'd just make them to fit and not worry about the period correct bends, etc.. That's what I did on my 69. The important thing is making good end connections. You have to do it right.
I'll try to take a pic of my 68 GMC that still has the original lines but not sure how that's going to come out. |

Re: brakes need help!
What I'm trying to figure out is. Is ther a t that a hose connects to coming off the frame rail? Do both lines on eather side of the T need to be equal length and are they hard lined into the wheel cylinders. Thanks. Not trying for period correct

Re: brakes need help!
The rear brake hose goes into a brass T fitting and then out to both wheels. The T fitting is secured in a metal tab that is welded or riveted to the frame. The lines are not equal length, no need to be.
Sorry no good pics.
