Re: ID My Rear View Mirror

It looks like the mirror in my truck. The Non-Glare mirror option, though the black plastic is missing off the flipper mechanism. If I remember correctly inset of the black flipper is " Day " & " Night ". I believe these were shared with the passenger cars as well. Don't have a good shot of mine, sorry. As for the arm, no clue. Passenger car perhaps as the guy possibly took the whole assembly recognizing the mirror head.

Ok. Googled the Chevrolet part# 987701 58-63 IMPALA and if you read the description below from the 1963 Chevrolet Custom Accessories Book also for Trucks.

Look at the mirror, I think the part # is lightly stamped into the housing.

From the 64 GMC Accessories Book

From the 1963 Chevrolet Custom Accessories Book, Please take note that GM reused old illustrations in their books as to describe a part and not necessarily illustrating the actual part.

Re: ID My Rear View Mirror

How about a picture of the top where mounts to the cab.

Gotta remember some of these trucks came without rear view mirrors and people added them later. Or maybe they didn't like the one that came with the truck. Could be just about anything.

I'm finding this out!
I have yet to see another that is exactly like it. I'm beginning to wonder if it may be from a different make all together.
I will pop off the plastic cover (which is standard) and see what is underneath it and take a pic.

Actually, a pic with the cover and one without would be good. Might jostle someone's memory.

Re: ID My Rear View Mirror

You will notice the factory holes are not being used. The PO "added" this mirror. You really don't see it but the bracket isn't even installed straight.
