How to--floor vents in a A/C cab..?
Hello,
It's my understanding that you have to cut a hole somewhere in the cowl area to make the floor vents work. Anybody done this before? Truck is a 1979 GMC. My first post.....Thank you kindly. ktownkid |

I'm curious as well. Have you taken the kick panels off, to see if the vent holes are present?

Re: How to--floor vents in a A/C cab..?
K-Town,
This is my first post as well, maybe I can help. I am basing my info off the two 81-87s that I have outside. My 82 is a factory non-ac truck. It has a large oval hole in each kick panel with manual flapper doors on each side. push/pull to close/open for fresh air vents. This fresh air does come in the cowl and down the sides to the vent area. My 84 was an AC truck before I stripped it for resto. It has one oval hole on the passenger side kick with a vacuum actuated flapper door that must allow fresh air to be directed straight into the ac/heater box. The driver's kick pannel has no hole at all. I will be deleting the AC on the 84 as I finish it. My plan is to get two non-AC kick panels w/ manual flapper doors and cut the oval vent hole in the driver's kick panel behind the trim to match the passenger side. I hope this helps, Matt |

yup no hole drivers side if you got AC
pass side has a hole hooked to the AC as far as i can tell the parts can be changed out AC to non-AC(was checking that out the other day) but looks like it might be hard to do the drivers hole if it's not there
