wheel size schtuff
Ok. So I've got a `68 C10 LWB with the original wheels on it (plain rims with dog bone caps). I'm not ready to start dumping cash in it yet, but want to start making some changes. The rims are insanely skinny, so I'd like to step up the size a bit partially to improve ride and cornering a tad, but also in prep for new brakes later on down the road.
So here's my question. If I want to just find some new plain, but bigger rims that will still allow the dog bone caps to fit...Is there such a thing as 16" or even 17" versions that the caps will fit, or am I stuck with 15" and just able to go wider? I'm not looking to spend money on something like custom stuff from Stockton or whoever. I'm really looking for pick and pull prices that I can paint up nice and throw on. Thoughts? |

Re: wheel size schtuff
I tried it...no luck. The new Dodges have a 20" steelie for a spare that the Dodge/Foed guys use but don't have a bolt pattern conducive to our use. Unless you go with Stockton or Wheel Vintiques as far as I know your SOL
