Removing a regency conversions steering wheel....

How do you do it? I don't have pics, but the hub has no other holes in it than the center hole, and the hole for the horn wire. It has about 12 bolts around the hub that holds the wheel on, but that's it. Any ideas? It's a 3 spoke, but definitely a conversion wheel. Help me if you can? I have to put in an ignition switch and don't want to have to rely on the old get your knees under it and pull scenario. Last time I did that, I nearly broke my nose!

Re: Removing a regency conversions steering wheel....

The hub that the wheel spokes bolt to still should be the same as any other wheel. That means it should have two threaded holes across from each other near the center shaft/nut.

You need a steering wheel puller. Loosen the center nut but don't pull it all the way off. Back the nut off until it's flush with the top of the shaft. That gives a little larger surface for the puller to work against. Screw in the two bolts from the puller into the threaded holes along with the puller. Tighten the center shaft on the puller and it should pop the hub/wheel off the shaft.

Re: Removing a regency conversions steering wheel....

Thanks, but I got it. The hub is wider than my steering wheel puller is why I asked. I man handled it off.
