Frame Help

Hey guys looking for some help identifying a frame. I recently purchased a 1950 Chevy AD truck and it is sitting on what I assume is a mid-70's frame. I found a number on top of the passenger side frame rail around the cab mounting area that shows 'C6S198541', is this part of the VIN?

Also on each frame rail there are numbers stamped about mid way on the sides, Driver's side = 363925 76 5 15 76 and Pass Side = 363925 765 18 76. I assume that these may be parts numbers? Truck has Dana 44 in front and Dana 66 in rear with NP203 Transfer Case.

Looking for some further insight so I know the correct parts to purchase to rebuild the suspension on this frame.

Re: Frame Help

Pics would help, no such animal as a Dana 66, sounds like it should be a 12 bolt from the rest of the running gear. Is it a Blazer frame, what is the wheelbase?

Re: Frame Help

Tough tosee the chassis all the way in these photos as the boards and bed are still on it. The wheelbase has been shortened to 118" to fit the Chevy AD wheelbase.

Re: Frame Help

The rear axle is a corp. 14 bolt. You can tell the difference between the blazer and pick up frames by looking at where the rear bumper bolts up, assuming it hasn't been modified.

Re: Frame Help

I would guess 73-77 range 3/4 ton pick-up. Better pics would help. It def looks 73+, 8 lug is 3/4 ton , full time 4WD, due to no locking hubs. Should be a 203 t-case if it is full time 4WD, not sure when that ended though. It may be a 76 as your numbers indicate.

Re: Frame Help

Are the front frame horns, cut or not?
