L.E.D. lights...

I found another company that hadles LED light kits. They don't make anything "specific" for our trucks, but the have custom assemblies.

Their site is pretty lame with almsot no pics. I found a lot more deatiled pics in the current issue of Street Rodder...

Are you wanting to retain the stock tail light location or move it to the roll pan?

Auto Zone has a LED that just replaces the 1157 bulb right into the stock socket. I have been looking at it and wondering how even the light would be. I think there is also one set up for the side marker bulb. These also seem to have a Resistor so you don't get into a fight to get the blinker to act correctly.

They have the side marker ones made by Jam Strait. The resistor on there is so the LEDs operate - it will still mess up your blinker unless you get an electronic flasher or get big fat resistors like I do.

How do they light?

Both my trucks have electronic flashers because they are set up to tow.

I have them all around on my truck and live them. The markers light up pretty good especially if you get the 4 LED one. I have the 4 LED amber for front and 2 LED red for the back.

The electronic flasher is to compensate for amp draw. In your case the E-flasher adjusts because when you hook your trailer up, you have more lights, and more amp draw. With the stock flasher, your blinkers would be very rapid.

This is the opposite effect. The LED lights are very low voltage. They draw milliamps, rather than amps. The E-flasher compensates for lack of amp draw, and allows the blinkers to flash. Without it, the LED would not create enough draw to activate the stock flasher unit...

I want to retain the stock light assemblies. I'm just looking for brighter lights.

This actually pertains to another thread that was started about LED lights for our trucks....
