Bagged trucks and swaybars

I did some searching and found what to do for the front, do any of you also run a sway bar in the rear?

I ran a camaro rear bar for a while. Now switching to hotchkis because I've done a step notch.

It kind of depends on the configuration of your suspension and available space. This is the type of kit currently available for a factory-type coil spring rear suspension. http://www.classicperform.com/Store/...uck/CP7401.htm

I lowered my truck quite a bit and run a rear gas tank, so room is kind of a premium in my application. As a result, I fabricated a splined torsion-type sway bar assembly that goes through the frame.

Do you have the info for the rear sway bar set up that you constructed in the picture? How does it work for you?

Re: Bagged trucks and swaybars

It was a left over splined torsion-type sway bar used for sprint cars, etc. It's a solid 1-inch x 42 inch 36 spline unit. The arms are 15 inch. It works really well for my application, but if I used my truck to haul more than a couple hundred pounds or tow regularly, I would go for at least a 1.25-inch, or larger, bar.

Re: Bagged trucks and swaybars

I just got the bell tech sway bar for the 73-87 C10 and am adapting it to work with my bag set up. It's a nice unit with all brand new poly urethane mounts and grade 8 hardware, Ill check to see what size it is for you.
