I have an adaptor I bought to mate my SM465 to an NP 205. The threads for the handle bolt are 7/16-14. The bolt I have that fits the handle is 1/2 inch. Is there a handle bolt with 7/16 threads that I need, or should I just drill and tap the adaptor for the 1/2 inch bolt. A straight 7/16 bolt is too small for the handle. Thanks!!

There is a bushing that goes on the 7/16 bolt to take up the slack.
I made a new one out of nylon cause mine were shot..

OK..maybe my bushing is worn that much too,but...it fits a 1/2inch bolt good. Thought maybe there was a 1/2 shank bolt with 7/16 threads ??

There is. It is a special shoulder bolt that is designed just for that application.

Standard shoulder bolts with 1/2" shank have 3/8-16 thread. A 1/2" shank with 7/16-14 thread is probably going to be a special
as indicated.

When I swapped my straight stick 205 for an auto 205 I bought a new bolt from the General. The updated bolt has a zerk on the end so you can squirt grease in there. There was room so I put some nylon washers in there too. Between the nylon and the grease it doesn't rattle around like the old one.

I HAD a part number. If I can find it I'll post or email it to you. If worse comes to worse I should have a box in the shed that has my old bolt in it. It Might fit your application.

The 7/16 bolts were for 4 speeds, and the 1/2 bolt was for AT adapters.

I have a new 7/16 adapter bolt I would sell you for $10 bucks, PM for pic.

mrein3...the greasable bolt sounds very interesting! I had planned on tapping the handle for a fitting, this would be better. I PMed 72Bob for a pic of his. I'll see what it looks like. Thanks all
