87 Chevy Radio convert
Well here is my situation. My brother is going to be giving me his pioneer flip out dvd player. I have an 87 chevy v-10(k-10) and I was wondering is anyone has switched the middle vent into a radio slot or if anyone makes a kit to help me do this. If i was to put the dvd player in the original spot it would be just plain stupid, cause no other passenger could see it let alone me hardly being able to see it. SO if anyone has heard or seen of this plz post links or pictures of the installs, thanks

There isn't a kit for it, but there is someone who ahs done it, but their name escapes me at the moment.
You can look forward to some bracket fabrication using aluminum flat stock, some self-tapping screws, and a "cage" for the deck. You will probably need a trim ring and some ABS plasic just in case.

Re: 87 Chevy Radio convert
Sorry for not updating in a long long time, life has handed me a bad card, i broke my back in August of 09, 2 days after this radio got installed, and I'm now a incomplete paraplegic.
Anyways i ended up putting the flip out in the stock location. It works out good except it blocks the A/c controls, but I can tilt the screen to reach them when need be..... |
