my 1961 Apache 20 Long bed
This is my project, a 1961 Apache 20 long bed. 283, powerglide (replaced with a later THM 3spd auto) deluxe heater and radio. I have replaced upper/lower ball joints, tie rods, master cylinder, all wheel cylinders, pads and turned drums, waterpump, hoses, repaired radiator, recovered the seat, got all gauges working, replaced bed wood, all lights working, tune-up and replaced oil pan gaskets, valve cover gaskets and went with a spin on oil filter. She runs good, except for being geared low (like 2o's are). Next is windshield replacement and paint of interior metal. Then outside paint. It is a white truck, but I think I will do the grille and eyebrows grey as I love the offset on the 60/61's. I am thinking of vintage doorart for my business. This is a great board - I love to check in! Thanks - GKP1961

What a cool truck! I like the changes you have done so far. Subtle changes to make it work better, but not visible to the eye.
Keep us posted on this one. I like it!

Re: my 1961 Apache 20 Long bed
Thanks, I learned to drive on a 61 Chevy so I always wanted one. It was a great truck to start with, almost no rust. I am conflicted about the color...it should be white...but I have always loved the offset of the grille and eyebrows being white while the truck is another color....maybe the grey will work. I am amazed at the talent of the owners on this site! Great trucks and lots of ideas! gpk1961
