Good deal? 1983 Chevy K20
Hey guys. I was talking to my uncle's friend last night he proposed a deal with me. He had a '83 K20 and he sold it to a friend of his.
He said if I wanted to, he'd go halfs with me to buy it back. He said the only thing he wants is the engine (It's a 327). So I would be getting the whole truck (with a fresh Turbo 400 that has a shift kit or something) and it's in good shape. Cab comes from Texas and the bed is from a salvage yard in which the truck came from the south. Only major problem is, the frame is weak up by the steering box and near the rear shocks. If it's got a good price do you guys think I should go for it? My truck's pretty old and tired, but the frame is 100% solid. I was thinking if I can get it, swap the cabs, and use the good bed panels to fix mine up (I prefer short boxes, like my truck has now) and use the K20 as a plow truck in the winter. Or keep it and sell my truck, since the K20 is in such better shape What is your opinion?

I have no idea what your opinion of a good price is. I guess if you think it's a good price then do it. Otherwise post the price here and you should get some good recommendations.

Depends on the price if you want to use your frame and motor and used that cab go for it.
But if they guy would want say 1500$ that would be 750$ for a cab good cab a bed your not going to use and an 83 front clip now granted if you just wanted the cab you could prob sell the rest to someone that needs it and get a decent amount of what you had in it back if it was all good and you just wanted the cab. I saw this not top long ago that doesnt look bad for being around here but needs a little bit o work would be a heck of a haul for you tho. http://classifieds.pennswoods.net/cl...dindex=1304340 |

I saw that truck on Pennswoods the other day lol, it's too far away (see below)
Rusty, that's a great gesture and I really do appreciate it!!! However I think i'll have to pass on your generous offer, as I don't really have anything reliable enough to travel long distances. Thanks though! Still haven't got a hold of them though, I just hope that it's not a joke..
