proportioning valve reset?
I lost a rear axle seal and it soaked my rear brakes on one side. The proportioning valve slipped and will only supply pressure to the rear brakes. I have replaced all the needed parts and now can't figure out how to reset the proportioning valve.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Dean

Proportioning Valve reset...
..is correctly done by ensuring the "pin" (located in the front of the PV) is to the rear (IN). Either by "special tool" (I made one out of an "L" shaped braket and bolted it to the PV mounting bolts or there is a real Chevrolet "Special Tool" from long ago) or clamped with big C Clamp...once the pin is secured to the rear (IN) proceed with brake bleeding process as normal...it may/usually take a few times to do the system due to air within the system. Another method is to literally "stomp" on the brake pedal and this will sometimes "center" the valve....either way should work. Ensure that you first "bench bleed" the Master Cylinder or all is for naught. Be patient...bleeding brakes is a process not rushed....hope this helps.....7T1BURB
