72 chevy cig lighter hole

Hey guys!
I'm trying to find the best way to change the factory cig/lighter to a 12v power source. Does anyone know of any vendors that sells a direct fit 12v power connection? I bought one but it is too big for the original hole. If there are no vendors what is the best way to expand the original hole? Thanks for you help!

Re: 72 chevy cig lighter hole

There should be stuff that fits that hole, but..... The best way would be to fit something new under the dash. To make a hole that size larger, the best way would be to use a hole punch. That will cost around $30. However, your dash may be a little on the thick side for one and if it's not flat, more problems. Don't try to drill it out unless you can take your dash out and chuck it up. You risk injury, you will likely mess up your dash, and the drill will cost more than the project is likely worth. Hope that helps.
