Cool New guy from Michigan

Hey guys, love the site. Just picked up my first ....well pickup.

Have always loved/wanted a 67-72 Chevy truck and finally found one when I had the money. Was used previously by a City near Detroit for a parade vehicle.

Motor went and they sold it at an auction to the guy I bought it from who "says" it had received a donated 05 crate 350. Paint scheme needs to be erased....although it would be cool around the right holidays. Anyway, my name is Hazen and I am a disabled US Army Vet, suffering from the Michigan job loss market going back to school and working at the College I attend helping other Vets utilize their military college funds. I plan on using the truck as my daily driver but maybe after I get my degree and move up in pay scales I will do it up correctly but for now it's all on the cheap to look good sound good and run better.

This site has helped me in many ways already. Just did the external to internal voltage regulator swap today just before I came to write up my first post.

And as I have learned......here are some pictures as it sits. (Have to say the pictures turned out pretty good for a stinking camera phone)

It is in desperate need of new headers as the driver side header is rotted out at the collector...bench seat is the worst of the interior. All gauges light up and are fully functional, 75k on the odometer that works, not bad for $1500 I say.

WOW small world. Also funny you mention the Michigan job loss market. That is the reason I left as a young man of 22 way back in 1981!! Things don't change much back in ol Michigan do they?

HAHA.....yep....small world for sure, and nope, things in Michigan tend to stay the same here lol......

I got out of the Army in 2003, still trying to figure out what made me come back here.

Oh well , I do think Michigan does have it's good points. I always loved the north woods. Hunting, fishing, etc.
Thank you Hazen for serving our great country
