im back to working on my truck
hey guys its been a while lots of stuff has happend lately
well i wrecked my 77 big ten on june the 10th of this year which bent the axle and frame and now im driving my 79 as a daily, and the 79 is workin out to be a good DD becouse of its long wheel base and soft suspention(good ride quality) the old 250 is giving me bout 16 mpg on the highway which is about double what the 77 got (i am thrilled to death about that). The new plans for my 79 is to replace my verijet carb with a regular 2bbl carb on the 250, i got a good frend that is a machinest and me and him are workin out an addapter for that, becouse he has a 79 short bed k10 with a 250 and he experinces all the cold natured problems that i have with mine. In 15 months i have a CD coming mature and i am gonna buy a 4.8 crate motor http://paceperformance.com/i-5146486...e-package.html and mount a t-5 behind that. but until then i am gonna add a set of sway bars and keep the old 250 running good. i have also been building a hitch for it in my spart time

Re: im back to working on my truck
Wow, that doesn't look like a hard enough hit to have done that much damage. Hope no one was hurt. 16 mpg sounds pretty good, congrats. Out of curiosity, what kind of cold nature issues are you having with the six?

Re: im back to working on my truck
one side of the bed is like three inches taller that the other now, and at first i thought it just bent the wheel but i put a good rim and tire on it and it still flops around going down the road, i wish it didnt happen but i was ok and the ditch didnt suffer to bad but the worse part was comming home to tell dad that i wrecked our first truck, that sucked. my little 250 stumbles bad unless its like 90-100 degrees outside, the carb makes it run realy realy lean and it will hickup when you go to take off on a steep hill and that will scare you when try to pull out infront of somone. it just needs more fuel so i am gonna put a rochester 2g on it so it has a little more adjustment potential.
