trans issues
ok, so i was driving yesterday, and i stopped at a stoplight. when i went to pull off, there was a loud whining noise, and the truck acted like it was in neutral. i still have 1st and reverse, but no second or third. what could possibly be the problem? i have already replaced all vacuum components, i am at a loss

Re: trans issues
Could be the governor at the back of the trans, but I've only seen that go once on a TH400 and all it did was not let the trans shift into first.
Mine does the same thing as yours if I stop too fast without manually downshifting or if I leave it in overdrive. Then I have to put it in neutral, shift the T-case to 4lo and back to 2hi and put the trans back in drive again. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure.
