We have a Crown Vic cop car at work that I have been going to measure the tread width on if they will ever leave the wheels straight. I think that they are about six inches too wide for an AD truck and probably a few inches too wide for the 55/59 trucks.

I think you meant positive offset wheels (like front wheel drive). Negative offset pushes the wheel out of the fender.

I think the deciding factor would be your choice of wheels that you want to run. If you are ok with the positive offset wheels that look like front wheel drive wheels you should be good to go. If you want to run some "reverse style" wheels it isn't gong to work unless you are into the hot wheel car wheel look which is rather silly these days.

It might look great on a Task force truck that you were going for a salt flats racer look with spun aluminum caps on the Crown Vic wheels or slightly taller steelies though.

I run full hubcaps usually so I think I could live with something like this other than the track width issue on my AD. I'd probably have to have the drop center dual whels up front to make it as narrow as Mr48 measured.

Now, if you were going to go hot rodding with 1 1/2-2 ton AD or TF sheet metal, this might be perfect. Just something to think about.

And Mr48, that hot wheel car wheel look wasa rather silly in THOSE days as well. IMHO!!
