Source for larger gauge GM wire terminals?

Hey guys,

Has anyone found a convenient source to buy the 10-12 gauge versions of the GM series 56 and 59 wire terminals? I've been slowly working on fixing wires in the truck and am upgrading the wires to 10 and 12 gauge as I go, but I'd like to use the original style terminals but can't seem to find the bigger versions.

NAPA carries the complete line of 14-16 gauge terminals, but doesn't seem to carry the bigger ones. I've found a few sketchy online parts warehouses that carry them, but was hoping that there was a convenient (and safer) local source that I could use.

Or does everyone just buy the 14-16 gauge terminals from NAPA and make them work with a 10 gauge wire? I guess if you just crimp hard enough and solder it might work, but my electrical skills are already so bad that it looks like a retarded monkey puked wires into my truck whenever I try to rewire anything so it would be best for me to use the correct parts from the beginning.

Here's my source for "all-things Packard 56". Waytek has bare terminals, male and female connectors (1-8 pins). You will have to buy some small quantities, but the're great to keep around, especially if you work on other old GM stuff. Also a great source for 12V relays and sockets, etc. Also all gages and colors of automotive grade wire !!!!

Cool! Thanks so much for the recommendation and guidance on what I'm looking for. I just searched for "Packard" terminals and got a whole bunch of hits.

It sure helps to know what to ask for.

If you want to upgrade look at www.americanautowire.com they have harness's made with better heat resistant wire, i just got an A/C harness for my 71 their exactly like factory and the more reasonable than any one else + their American Made

I agree. I keep these connectors "in stock" in my electrical box because you never know when you need to make up a new wire or repair an end.

Cool! Waytek is in Minnesota. Too bad they are diagonal from me across the Twin Cities. Snail mail could get to me faster than me driving there.
