2 inch lift question
I just picked up my first 72 blazer and I love it ! It has 33x12.5x15 tires on 15x10 wheels with stock suspension. The problem is that the front tires are rubbing. I have been looking at lifts and would like some opinions . Will the 2" tough country lift be okey with the 33's and will it look good ? I was thinking about going 4" but i"m afraid that the tires will look to small. What do you guys think ?
Thx Boyd |

Re: 2 inch lift question
I think they look good with 33's and a 4" lift. I did it to mine, but used 33x10.50-15's. All in personal taste though.

Re: 2 inch lift question
I'm also thinking 2 - 2.5 inch lift with 33 12.5's. I think the stance of the 2.5 inch and 33's looks much better.

Re: 2 inch lift question
I will try to get some pics today. The truck in my signature was stock with 33 by 12.5 tires that rubbed and I installed a tough country 2.5 inch spring lift and it worked out great.

Re: 2 inch lift question
Rule of thumb used to be, 33's get a 4" lift & 35's need a 6" but of course it's all about how you wanna use it.
Street, stay on the lesser side if you like the look better but if it's going off road at all, it won't be enough. Here's one I had once with 33's & a 4" spring lift. |

Re: 2 inch lift question
Thx for the picts ! I was talking to my local 4x4 shop about the Rough country 4" lift and I was complaining that they don't offer a 2" one. The guy told me I could take one of the leafs out of the spring pack and that would drop it down to 3" lift. Has anyone ever heard or done that ?

Re: 2 inch lift question
A 2 inch lift will work for ya.
I run 33 x 10.5's with stock lift and have no issues at all on or off road. Those that do may have sagging body mounts or core support mounts, saggy stock springs with worn bushings etc... I've replaced all my bushings (suspension and body) with poly mounts but left everything at stock ride height (original springs etc...) and the 33 x 10.5's clear with room to spare even when articulating the front axle. Your wider tire may be causing some issue with the 12.5's, but that's only an extra inch per side. |

Re: 2 inch lift question
I'm running a 2 - 2.5" skyjacker lift, I think the rear is a 4" spring - no blocks. It sits level. Also, running 33x12.50x15/Goodyear Wranglers. I did a little off-road driving this weekend and noticed tires the front barley rub when turning hard in mild terrian.

Re: 2 inch lift question
See my recent posts here for my Tuffcountry 2" lift with 32x11.5 Discoverer tires. I am at doctors office now so I can't post photos from my mobile.

Re: 2 inch lift question
ive got 33x12.50s on mine and they dont rub, as far as i know it does not have a lift i know it does not have blocks in the rear but if they would have done all springs i would not know. ill post a pic after i go out and take one.
it does not seem to sit like the pic above so i guess thats no lift i was worried they were gonna rub after reading some threads on here but there fine for street use ![]() ![]() Last edited by hoopty-cuztom; 09-07-2011 at 09:31 AM. |
