Mounting Sub Box
I've got a 2004 silverado standard cab and I made a sub box to fit behind the seats. What's the best way to secure it? I don't really want to screw it to the back wall. Right now its sitting on top of the plastic cover that goes over the jack and such. What if I put some velcro strips on the back of the box so it stuck to the carpet?

Re: Mounting Sub Box
hey did you ever get it mounted ? I have an 86, i know its not the same as your 04 but just looking for ideas. I tried velcro with the sub enclosure and hot glue on the amplifier rack which is separate and after a few days in the heat everthing came detached !
anyone else have any mounting ideas???? doesnt have to be year specific just general ideas...

Re: Mounting Sub Box
Use some L brackets. Attach them to the floor, then to the side of the sub box. If you mount the bottom of the bracket under the box, then they hide pretty well and stay put. I have used the basic L bracket they sell at Home Depot for fencing. Just paint them to match.

Re: Mounting Sub Box
i glued half a dozen rare earth magnets to the speaker box.. it is hard to move if you need to.. you can get those on ebay, but if you have an old hard drive, they are free and crazy strong.. know anyone in IT at work.. we destroy old hard drives when we upgrade to protect data..

Re: Mounting Sub Box
As jimmydean stated above, the L brackets are very useful as well as self taping sheet metal screws.I use a single 2" L to hold down my homemade center sub box. Also use them for the Amp plate (3")behind the rear seat.Works great & not an eyesore.

Re: Mounting Sub Box
Exactly. Nice work. I still have a lot to do on mine. Got distracted by the engine compartment.
