C10 and C20 under bed tire carrier difference

Picked up a under bed tire carrier from the wrecking yard yesterday. Cleaned it up and Im currently attempting to mount the spare tire on it. The carrier came off a C20 and its going on a C10. Two questions. 1. Does the tire mount with the outside of the rim facing up? 2. Are the carrier brackets suppose to fit flush to the inside of the rims? Ive got about a inch of free space, leading me to think that the carrier is made for a larger rim. Give me a few and I'll see if I can get a picture uploaded. Thanks in advance.

There are several extra holes to change the bracket to accomidate size wheels.

Looks like thats the path Im heading down. Unfortunately Im going to have to do some drilling because the brackets are currently secured with some heavy duty rivets. Should be easy enough to secure them with some new bolts. Thanks for the reply.

a cut off wheel and an air chisel is the fastest/easiest way to remove rivets. cut an "x" into the rivet head and the four pieces pop right off with the chisel. i had to do the same thing to my underbed carrier.

I'm gonna guess you need to flip the rim over so the tire mounts flush with the bracket and then you won't scratch the crap out of your rim!! Good luck.
Going out on a limb here, but do you also need to secure the rim to the bracket( with a long bolt) so it doesn't move around on you??

in the past i've taken 1/8"rubber pieces and glued them on to the prong things to protect my wheels from scratches
