EZ Wiring Harness

Has anyone used one? Opinions? Rate their quality if possible... I'm looking to have my truck rewired to put my electrical woes behind me. I'm thinking about buying the following EZ Wiring Harness...

Re: EZ Wiring Harness

I don't know about EZ wiring harness, but it makes me wonder why rewiring projects don't relocate the fuse panel to somewhere more accessible - like under the hood or in the glove box. I know the newer vehicles use under the hood - much better IMO. I hate crawling on the floor with a flashlight trying to find the right fuse.

Re: EZ Wiring Harness

I used the 12 fuse version on a 67 CJ I redid for the wife. The EZ wire was the way to go! All the wires have what they go to written all along them. It covers all the major needs, and some extras. I had problems getting a hold of tech support, but once I did they were great.
If I ever re-wire my truck, I'd get another one of these for it.

Re: EZ Wiring Harness

I've used a couple of them. I would rate them as good. You can do a whole truck in a day. The thing that impressed me was all the extra wire. I would buy direct from EZ Wire. I don't see any reason you couldn't locate the fuse block anywhere you wanted.

Re: EZ Wiring Harness

I have one of their kits sitting in my garage, just waiting to go on. The quality seems nice, and the instruction manual is written well, and have a few diffferent diagrams depending on your application. If I remember right, mine even came with the plug for the steering column.

Good idea on relocating the fuse panel. I hate it under the dash and is hard to get to. I might relocate mine to an easier spot under the dash, or maybe on the back ledge behind the seat???? or is that odd??

I would say put it where ever you want to. If it's easier for you and you are physically able to do it, then do it!

Re: EZ Wiring Harness

Or, maybe look for a newer fuse box from a late model at the junkyard and take the weatherproof box for your aftermarket fuse panel, then put it under the hood. Or, perhaps use a residential style weatherproof outdoor electrical box and mount it under the hood - probably would need a two gang box or bigger.

Make sure you get the kit with the GM connectors for the steering column.

Re: EZ Wiring Harness

I like the under hood location, but I am planning on shaving the firewall and keeping everything as clean as possible.

How long on average did it take everyone to re-wire their truck? I have no A/C, no smog equipment, so I am thinking it wouldn't take me a tremendous amount of time, other than neatly grouping wires and running through the truck.

Re: EZ Wiring Harness

I've got mine waiting in my garage as well. I can't wait til it cools off more down here in Houston to put it on! Post up pics on your progress. I'd be interested to see how it goes for you.
