65/66 bumper

My '66 Suburban has a painted rear bumper that has no 'cut-out' along the top edge for the license plate. I see an ad for a chromed rear bumper on a '65 SWB... it has the cut-out.

Any opinion on how it might fit? I assume (?) the hardware mounts line up reagardless of year, but not sure if the bumper is too tall to allow the barn doors to open.

All input appreciated- that chrome sure would make the Ratburb look purty.

(and if it's just a matter of turning over the bumper...)

Re: 65/66 bumper

I believe you will need totally different mounts for your burb. the frame is the same as a SWB but I think the mounts are longer.

Re: 65/66 bumper

the suburban has a metal body panel that protrudes under the top of the rear bumper. It also has a rubber seal that runs the width of the body between that panel and the bumper. it would look pretty silly with a p/u bumper on there
