Popping Hubs

HI all. I'm new to the forum and I could sure use some input on a problem that I'm having. I have a 1985 c30 4x4. When I turn hard to either the left or right the hubs make a popping sound. It is pretty loud. It does it when the hubs are unlocked and not in 4 wheel drive. I have not checked them in 4 wheel drive with the hubs locked. It is currently on jackstands or I would go check in 4 wheel drive right now. Any help or sugestions would be of great help.

Sure there unlocked? Sounds like they might be frozen in which case they need to be tore down lubricated and reassembled.

If you tear those apart make sure you keep the parts in the order they came apart. There's a few little parts and it can get confusing. Good Luck
